Yoga Classes in West Omaha

Functional yoga rooted in tradition, breath, mobility and joint-smart strength, from slow long-held power work to Yoga Nidra.

Where

Yoga & Functional Movement Room

Our yoga programming is directed by a yoga therapist and a pelvic floor coach, so every class is built on functional anatomy and designed with modifications in mind. The pace ranges from vigorous to deeply restorative.

Every body is welcome. If you've had a knee or wrist injury or replacement, carpal tunnel, or anything that makes weight-bearing uncomfortable, talk to your teacher before class. They can offer modifications, point you to a better-fit class, or set up a private session.

The classes

Functional Power Yoga

Slow · Strength-based · All levels

Postures are held for two to four minutes, long enough to find the version that fits your body today. Class opens with somatic movement, moves into a deliberate flow and closes with ten minutes of breathwork and meditation.

Level: All levels. Includes time on hands and knees. Modifications are always available. Talk to your teacher before class about any wrist, knee or joint concerns.

What to expect

  • Long holds that build strength through precision
  • Somatic opening to settle the nervous system
  • Breath and meditation to close
  • Room to explore instead of perform

Functional Vinyasa Flow

Moving · Connected · Breath-synchronized

A continuous, breath-led sequence that builds heat, coordination and body awareness. Function over form: every transition prepares you for what comes next and trains you for life off the mat.

Level: Some yoga experience helpful. Includes time on hands and knees. Modifications are always available. Talk to your teacher before class about any wrist, knee or joint concerns.

What to expect

  • Breath-synchronized sequences
  • Functional transitions
  • Heat and rhythm without losing precision
  • A full arc from warm-up to close

Functional Vinyasa Flow II

Intermediate · Vigorous · Self-guided

Faster, fuller and more autonomous than Functional Vinyasa Flow, with less moment-to-moment cueing so you can find your own rhythm.

Level: Intermediate. Come once you can move through Functional Vinyasa Flow confidently. Includes time on hands and knees. Modifications are always available. Talk to your teacher before class about any wrist, knee or joint concerns.

What to expect

  • A quicker, more vigorous flow
  • Transitions that test coordination and strength
  • More independence in the practice

Ashtanga Inspired Flow

Breath-led · Sequential · Traditional lineage

Drawn from Ashtanga Vinyasa: a set series of postures linked by breath and a consistent vinyasa. It builds internal heat and focus while leaving room for smart modification.

Level: Some yoga experience recommended. Includes time on hands and knees. Modifications are always available. Talk to your teacher before class about any wrist, knee or joint concerns.

What to expect

  • Traditional sequencing with breath-synchronized movement
  • Internal heat and focus
  • A meditative quality built through repetition
  • Modifications within the traditional framework

Power Deep

Prop-supported · Functional strength

Inspired by Bryan Kest and B.K.S. Iyengar. Fewer postures, longer holds and lots of props: blocks, straps, walls and blankets used as tools for investigation. No heat and no rush, just deliberate strength.

Level: All levels. Includes time on hands and knees. Modifications are always available. Talk to your teacher before class about any wrist, knee or joint concerns.

What to expect

  • Long holds with anatomical breakdown
  • Load, leverage and structural integrity
  • Deep core and pelvic awareness

Grounded Hatha

Steady · Earth-based · Nervous system first

Classical hatha through a somatic, joint-aware lens. We settle the nervous system before asking the body to hold, and every prop is placed with purpose.

Level: All levels. Beginners and anyone recovering from injury are especially welcome. Includes time on hands and knees. Modifications are always available. Talk to your teacher before class about any wrist, knee or joint concerns.

What to expect

  • An unhurried opening before movement
  • Classical postures, joint-aware cueing
  • Prop-supported depth
  • Holds long enough to really feel them

Power & Release

Power yoga · Functional yin · Integration

The first half is strength-based power yoga. The second half is functional yin: longer, supported holds that release what effort tightens.

Level: All levels. Props provided. Includes time on hands and knees. Modifications are always available. Talk to your teacher before class about any wrist, knee or joint concerns.

What to expect

  • Power flow in the first half
  • Prop-supported yin in the second
  • A shift from effort into rest

Floss & Flow

Nerve flossing · Fascial release · Active somatics

Slow, oscillating movement for the nervous system and connective tissue: nerve flossing (neural gliding), pendulation from Somatic Experiencing, and fascial release. The goal is freedom of movement, not flexibility.

Level: No experience needed. Good for chronic tension, nerve sensitivity and post-injury holding patterns.

What to expect

  • Nerve flossing for the major nerve pathways
  • Fascial unwinding and oscillation
  • Pendulation between activation and ease
  • Leaving with less neural tension

Yoga Nidra

Meditative sleep · Deep rest

A guided practice that takes you into deep relaxation while you stay fully conscious, using breath, body scanning and visualization. No movement required.

Level: No yoga experience needed. Bring a blanket.

What to expect

  • Guided body scan and breath awareness
  • Visualization practice
  • Complete stillness

Tai Chi & Qi Gong

Moving meditation · Breath · Balance

Slow, flowing forms from Traditional Chinese Medicine and Taoist practice. Gentle to do, with real benefits for balance, coordination, stress and rooted strength.

Level: All ages and levels, including limited mobility or balance concerns.

What to expect

  • Flowing sequences coordinated with breath
  • Qi Gong exercises
  • Standing meditation and balance work
  • Benefits that build with regular practice
